Will my private insurance reimburse my monthly concierge fee?
Some Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Medical Savings Account (MSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) plans may pay for all or part of the annual fee. Patients are advised to consult their human resources representative at their place of employment.
Do I still need insurance if I enroll with you?
Yes. Concierge medical practices do not take the place of general health insurance
coverage. Our practice is a primary care medical practice, not a health insurance program
. You are advised to continue your PPO, Medicare or other insurance program.
Is the annual concierge fee tax deductible?
Joining Presidential Wellness care may be tax deductable. It may be reimbursed through group health plans pursuant to Sections 105 and 106 of the Internal Revenue Code, cafeteria plans under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health reimbursment accounts (HRAs), and health savings accounts (HSAs). Please consult your tax advisor to clarify qualification under your particular circumstance.
Can I use my Healthcare Flexible Spending Account to cover the fee?
Please check with your carrier. Some Flex Accounts will allow you to use those pre-tax dollars to cover the annual fee.
Why don't you accept payment from insurance companies?
This level of care can't be offered within the constraints of health insurance. The average family physician in an insurance driven practice cares for 6000-8000 patients, sees 40-50 patients per day, and averages 5 minutes face to face time per visit. The "cost" of accepting payment from an insurance company is what drives these numbers. Costs include administrative costs of coding and billing visits, calling the insurance company for authorizations, coverage information, and also on denials of payment. In addition, when a physician is a participating provider with an insurance company, they must accept whatever the insurance company wil pay, usually 10-20% below the billed amount. Because insurance companies don't reimburse for phone calls and email, physicians don't have time to utilize these valuable communication tools.
What hidden costs do I have?
Your premium wellness package covers many of the costs associated with the primary care provided by Presidential Wellness. You or your insurance company will, however, be responsible for payment of some aspects of medical care including, but not limited to X-rays, labs, hospitalization, some transportation, travel accompaniment, and prescriptions.
How can Presidential Wellness help me to pay less than what I am currently paying for my healthcare?
Like we said before, we aim to target diseases, illnesses, and medical conditions before they get to where they would require costly hospital visits and weekly exams and labs. Having a membership with us guarantees a healthier home, which in turn provides less bills -- leaving you less stressed!
What do I do if I become ill while traveling or away on an extended vacation?
We offer physician accompanied travel for those who are travelling to a destination and would like to make sure they're covered. This is offered at an additional rate, however, so be sure to talk with our office before planning. Should the unfortunate situation of requiring medical assistance arise while on a trip, Dr. Pirozzolo should be notified immediately to facilitate your care and/or make arrangements to come to you.
What happens if the doctor is on vacation?
Vacations are typically planned well in advance. In the event of an emergency, or if patient hospitalization is required, our covering physician will provide the same personalized presidential care as Dr. Pirozzolo. As part of your package agreement, he can always be reached where ever he is, to give you peace of mind.
What if I my out of town guest becomes ill?
As a feature of the program, we will see out of town guests in need of unexpected medical care for a limit of one week. Anything after will be billed on a case by case basis.
What if I need to see a specialist or a surgeon?
Included in your plan, Dr. Pirozzolo will accompany you to whatever specialist appointment you may need, to help you obtain the care you need and to assist you in understanding any complex issues.
What about lab, x-ray, specialists’ fees and hospitalization?
Your fee pays for membership in the practice, for your annual wellness exam, and for all other services listed in the Patient Agreement. However, all other procedures and services not covered will be billed by the performing entity and should be covered by your insurance plan.
What if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
No member will be excluded on the basis of a pre-existing condition.
Do you perform house calls?
Yes, house calls are included in your premium package.
I’d like to meet with the doctor to discuss whether this practice is right for me. Is that possible?
Yes. You can schedule a consultation meeting with our doctor within 48 hours of calling our office.
